Take a hike
A little sunshine and movement helps your body pump out endorphins, which elevate your mood, and we all know the benefits exercise has on the body. Lucky for us, we live in Tucson, where winter doesn’t mean it’s time to hibernate. In fact, it’s the perfect time to get outside for exercise. You can walk, jog, skate, ride a bike or do body-weight exercises. Not sure where to go? Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Get a check up
A sure way to lower your chance of developing cardiovascular disease is to know your health risks and manage them. If you are not sure if you are at a higher risk, your primary care provider can perform or schedule screening tests. Some people worry about primary care visits and health screenings for fear of bad news, but being in the know gives you the opportunity to make positive changes before something serious happens.
